Mt. Biking: Around Felixstowe Wind Direction: Wind Stength: Surf / Sea State: Air Temperature: Sea Temperature: Weather: sunny periods Max Speed: 15.81 (knots - unless stated otherwise) Distance Covered: 11 miles (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)
Friday 4th March – bike **** – Around Felixstowe including lunch at
Trimley Churches – sunny periods.
After a cloudy start here in Felixstowe things brightened up during the
morning so after finishing my exercises, I made a chicken sandwich and set
off on our bikes for the second day running to make the most of the
sunshine and light winds:) We did not leave home until 1.40 and did not
want to bike too far but headed to the cliff top to see the sea first. It
was so lovely we decided to head down onto the prom, turning left to The
Fludgers weaving in and out of the many people making the most of the
weather. Then we turned inland heading for the much quieter Gulpher Road,
across Candlet Lane to the two churches which mark the boundary between
Trimley St. Mary and Martin. The churchyard is full of rabbits, there are a
few snowdrops left but the daffodils have taken over. We find our bench and
enjoy a very yummy chicken sandwich with lashings of salted butter and
mayonnaise:) Well rested we continue to the huge green footbridge over the
railway and back home. We were out two and a half hours covering 11 miles
making the most of the afternoon spring sunshine. Home for cuppa and cake
and I discover I have another small pic in the local paper, been a good
week. Tomorrow is looking poor with more rain, perhaps some wind on Sunday
and a run of SE winds next week but sadly a tad on the chilly side!
